About WENA News
Who we are, how we decide what to cover, how we pay for it, and who to hold responsible when we get it wrong.
Last updated 10 September 2026
WENA News — World Events, News & Analysis — is an independent digital news publication covering world affairs, India, sport, business, technology and culture. It is published at www.wenanews.com.
How we work
We monitor public news feeds from established outlets around the world so we know what is happening and when. Those feeds are an assignment desk, not a source of copy. Every article on this site is then reported and written by us.
Concretely, that means:
- We do not republish other outlets' articles, sentences, structure, photographs or wire copy.
- No claim is published as established fact on a single source. Where a story rests on one outlet's reporting, we say so in the text throughout.
- Every article lists the sources it drew on at the foot of the page, with links, so you can check our work.
- Quotations are short, exact, attributed to the speaker and to the outlet that obtained them, and linked.
These are not aspirations. They are enforced by our publishing system, which will not let an article go live without at least two cited sources, and which flags drafts that track a source's wording too closely. The full standard is published at editorial standards.
Images
We never publish another outlet's or a wire agency's photographs. Every image here is our own, licensed with the licence on record, in the public domain, or an AI-generated illustration — and illustrations are labelled as such on the page.
We do not generate images of real, identifiable people, and we never present an illustration as a photograph of an actual event.
Our use of AI
We use AI tools for research, structuring and, where labelled, illustration. We think being straightforward about that matters more than pretending otherwise.
Every article published here is written, checked and signed off by a human editor who is accountable for it. No article is auto-published. AI-generated images carry a visible label on the page.
Ownership and funding
WENA News is owned and operated by [Your legal name / registered company name], registered at [Registered address, City, State, PIN].
We are funded by advertising. Advertisers have no influence over what we cover or what we say. Nobody who buys advertising sees an article before publication, and no advertiser has ever been given the opportunity to review, alter or withdraw a story.
Any sponsored or affiliate content is clearly marked as such and is never presented as editorial reporting. At the time of writing we publish none.
Standards we hold ourselves to
- Our published editorial standards, which gate every article before it can be published.
- Our corrections policy — errors are corrected in public and dated, never edited away silently.
- The Code of Ethics in Part III of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, which applies to publishers of news and current affairs content in India.
- The DNPA Code of Conduct for digital news publishers.
